Our staff evaluates changes in bowel habits, rectal bleeding, abdominal pain, bloating, heartburn, and difficulty swallowing. We specialize in treating conditions such as Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn’s Disease), Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Celiac Disease, GERD, Hepatitis, and other diseases of the liver and GI tract. We are committed to colon cancer screening and prevention.

Physician Assistant Tara Blank, PA-C, graduated undergrad (magna cum laude) and grad school from Central Michigan University. She has been Nationally Board Certified since 2001 and has over 20 years of experience in Gastroenterology care with expertise in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of gastrointestinal disorders. Tara is originally from Sandusky and is thrilled to be back caring for patients in our community. She lives in St. Clair with her husband and three children.

John M. Macksood, DO, FACOI
Dr. Macksood received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan in 1989 and proceeded to Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine where he received his D.O. degree in 1993. His Internship, Internal Medicine training, and Gastroenterology fellowship were completed at Flint Osteopathic Hospital and Genesys Regional Medical Center in 1998.
