Medicare members are eligible to receive many preventive services at no cost.
Preventive services are important because they can detect health problems early. That’s when treatment works best and can prevent further progression of diseases.
Preventive services include exams, shots, lab tests, and procedures. They also include programs for health monitoring, counseling and education to help you take care of yourself.
The Affordable Care Act made many improvements to Medicare. If you have Original Medicare, you now qualify for a yearly “Wellness” visit and many other preventive services.
Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) covers the following preventive services offered by McKenzie Health System (List updated as of January, 2016.

- One-time “Welcome to Medicare” preventive visit
