McKenzie Health System Announces Cutting-Edge AI-Driven CAD Software Upgrade for Enhanced Mammography Care

Sanilac County, Mich. – McKenzie Health System is excited to announce a new AI-driven Computer-Aided Detection (CAD) software that will improve our mammogram services. This software adds to our advanced 3D mammography technology and shows our commitment to better breast cancer detection and care.

The new CAD software, recently approved by the FDA, will help us provide more accurate and reliable results. It scans each mammogram and gives a “Composition Score” that shows the details of breast tissue and points out any potential issues. This helps us avoid differences in how results are reported, which can happen when radiologists look at images by eye.

Starting this fall, new “mammography reporting requirements” will require reports to include specific information about breast tissue and warn about very dense tissue. With the new CAD software, McKenzie Health System will meet these standards and provide better care in breast cancer screening.

“We’re proud to be one of the first to use this new technology,” said Steve Barnett, President and CEO of McKenzie Health System. “This software helps us offer top-quality mammograms and brings a level of care that was previously only available in bigger cities.”

The CAD software works with our 3D mammography, which can find tiny issues earlier. We also offer Contrast Enhanced Spectral Mammography (CESM) to highlight possible cancers.
