McKenzie Health System Welcomes Melissa Grifka as New Swing Bed Coordinator

Sanilac County, Mich. – McKenzie Health System is pleased to announce the appointment of Melissa Grifka as the new Swing Bed Coordinator. With many years as a nurse at McKenzie, Grifka brings extensive experience in patient care and management, making her an ideal fit for leading the Swing Bed Program at McKenzie Health System.

In her new role as Swing Bed Coordinator, Grifka will coordinate the care of patients who are recovering from surgery, illness, or injury and require additional care before returning home. The Swing Bed Program at McKenzie Health System allows patients to transition or "swing" from acute medical services to skilled nursing and rehabilitation, ensuring a smooth and supportive recovery process.

"Melissa's dedication to patient care and her experience in managing complex healthcare needs make her a perfect choice to lead our Swing Bed Program," said Rebecca Stoliker, Director of Nursing Services at McKenzie Health System. "We are thrilled to welcome her to this position and look forward to her contributions as we continue to provide exceptional care and rehabilitation services to our community."

The Swing Bed Program at McKenzie Health System is designed to meet the holistic needs of both patients and their families. The program's comprehensive approach brings together a team of physicians, nurses, therapists, dietitians, social workers, and a patient care coordinator to create personalized recovery plans. These plans may include physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nutrition services, education, and more.

"I'm excited to get started in my new role and to lead a program that makes such a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and their families," said Grifka. "The Swing Bed Program is a vital resource for our community, and I look forward to working with our dedicated team to deliver the highest quality of care."
