Sanilac County, Mich. – In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, McKenzie Health System is offering $55 mammograms for uninsured and underinsured women throughout October. This special price, made possible by donations to the McKenzie Women's Health and Wellness Fund, aims to help women get the life-saving screenings they need.
Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women in the U.S., according to the American Cancer Society. Early detection can reduce deaths by up to 40%. That’s why McKenzie Health System is committed to making mammograms more affordable and accessible. No referral is needed, and patients can schedule their mammograms by calling 810-648-6110.
Cutting-Edge Technology for Early Detection
McKenzie Health System is proud to offer advanced AI technology to improve 3D mammograms. This new AI helps doctors find breast cancer more accurately, especially in women with dense breast tissue, who are up to five times more likely to develop the disease.
In September 2024, McKenzie Health also added a new AI-driven Computer-Aided Detection (CAD) software. This technology assigns a standardized “Composition Score” to breast tissue, helping doctors detect abnormalities earlier and more reliably. "We’re excited to bring this advanced technology to our community,” said Steve Barnett, President and CEO of McKenzie Health System. “It gives us better tools for early detection, which can save lives.”

Early Detection Saves Lives
Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women, but early detection can make a big difference. Regular mammograms can detect breast cancer early when it’s easier to treat. Medicare and most insurance plans cover mammograms, so many patients can access this important screening.
This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, McKenzie Health System encourages women to take charge of their health by scheduling a mammogram. Early detection can save lives.
