McKenzie Health System, in its commitment to providing the most comprehensive medical services for the community, is proud to announce the opening of the McKenzie Health System Infusion Center.

The new Outpatient Infusion Center expands their infusion therapy services and includes many commonly needed treatments such as IV antibiotics and medication for chronic diseases. The registered nurses and pharmacists have specialized training in IV infusion therapy and are focused on patient safety and comfort. They offer a variety of accommodating appointment options, including daily IV therapy, which are available Monday through Friday.

Infusions are administered in a friendly, welcoming environment that is close to home, eliminating the need to travel outside of the local community.

Outpatient infusion therapy can save patients hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in out-of-pocket expenses in comparison to inpatient hospitalization, emergency room services, and other options, as well as saving patients time and travel expenses.

Most major insurance carriers are accepted including state and federally funded plans. Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, and commercially insured patients qualify for outpatient infusion therapy. A wide variety of payment options are provided, as well as financial assistance to qualified patients.

“Our mission is to provide our local community IV infusion services close to home when they need it,” shares Rebecca Stoliker, Director of Nursing Services at McKenzie Health System. “Our nurses and care managers are specially trained to provide a wide range of therapies and treat disorders such as infectious disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis, CIDP, Allergic Asthma, Allergic Urticaria, Multiple Sclerosis, Chronic Migraine, Ulcerative Colitis, and Crohn’s Disease.”

Some medications offered include: IV antibiotics, specialty injectables, blood products, Remicade, IVIG, Tysabri, Xolair, Orencia, Actemra, Benlysta, IV fluids, Neupogen, Procrit, Neulasta, and much more. Patients can talk directly with a dedicated team member to learn if their needed medication is available and if the visit will be covered by their insurance.

The McKenzie Health System Infusion Center can be accessed through the Hospital Campus Outpatient Entrance which is located at 120 Delaware Street in Sandusky, Michigan.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer this service at McKenzie,” shares Billi Jo Hennika, Chief Operating Officer. “We understand that transportation and travel time are concerns for many in our community. The new Infusion Center eliminates the need to continue to seek these services outside of the community simply because this is what you have always done. If you or a loved one is currently traveling to areas such as Port Huron, Saginaw, or Detroit for IV infusion therapy, please call and speak with our dedicated case management team and find out more about how your treatment can be taken care of right here in our community.”
