McKenzie Health System is pleased to announce Stephen Tryban, a medical student from Central Michigan University (CMU), will join Dr. Mark English at Lakeshore Internal Medicine in Port Sanilac and McKenzie Family Healthcare in Sandusky in July as part of his education. Tryban, originally from Huntington Woods, Michigan, holds a bachelor's degree in evolutionary biology and a master’s degree in epidemiology from University of Michigan. His time with Dr. English, who specializes in internal medicine, will involve providing medical care to patients across the Port Sanilac and Sandusky areas and beyond. Alongside his medical pursuits, Tryban enjoys craft beer, indie music, and politics.

Steve Barnett, President and CEO of McKenzie Health System, expressed excitement about Tryban’s arrival, highlighting the organization's commitment to addressing rural medicine needs in Michigan. The collaboration serves as an opportunity to showcase the strength of McKenzie Health System while supporting the development of future medical professionals.

Tryban's involvement is part of Central Michigan University's Comprehensive Community Clerkship program, offering a 20-week medical education experience in underserved rural and urban communities across Michigan. This program exposes students to various medical specialties, including primary care, pediatrics, women's health, emergency medicine, inpatient care, and surgical care.
