McKenzie Auxiliary Donates Gift Cards to Brighten Young Patients’ Day
Sanilac County, Mich. – The McKenzie Health System Surgical Services Department recently received a generous donation of gift cards from the McKenzie Auxiliary. This thoughtful initiative is designed to bring a bit of joy and comfort to young patients undergoing procedures and has been credited to the Auxiliary for a number of years.
As part of a longstanding tradition, the Auxiliary provides gift cards to children, allowing them to enjoy a treat at local favorites like Dairy Queen or other nearby restaurants. This small gesture helps make the hospital experience a little brighter and more reassuring for the young patients.
When the Auxiliary learned that the last of the gift cards had been given out, they acted swiftly to restock the department, ensuring that no child would miss out on this comforting tradition. Their commitment to supporting the well-being of young patients is a testament to their dedication and generosity.
“We are incredibly grateful for the continued support from the McKenzie Auxiliary,” said Nik Woods, Operating Room Manager at McKenzie Health System. “Their kindness and proactive approach to restocking the gift cards demonstrates their deep care for our patients and their families. It’s wonderful to see such community spirit and generosity.”
The McKenzie Auxiliary’s donation not only brightens the day of young patients but also underscores the importance of community involvement in healthcare. This act of kindness reflects the heartwarming impact that such gestures can have on the lives of those facing challenging times.
