McKenzie Health System recently launched new technology designed to simplify the viewing and sharing of diagnostic images with providers and patients. Fast, free and secure, the new option gives patients and providers the ability to view and control images on any web-enabled device, while organizing all images and reports in one place.
Rather than receiving a CD, this HIPAA-compliant cloud platform called Nucleus.io uses a web browser to upgrade security, reduce hassle and deliver faster results. At the time of imaging, patients can request diagnostic images by completing a simple authorization form from the Health Information Management team at McKenzie Health System. Patients and/or providers will receive an email when results are available.
“You can think of it as a digital disk that provides convenient access for patients, families and providers alike,” said Jay Smith, Director of Diagnostic Imaging and Cardiopulmonary at McKenzie Health System. “This image-sharing solution is both faster and more secure than the CDs we previously used, so we are really pleased to offer this upgrade throughout our system.”
Patients can choose to view, download and share medical images to an existing facility or provider or to an email address. The new technology is available now.
“We are continually looking for ways to improve the services we provide for the community,” added Smith. “Easier access to imaging results is another way we can support those we care for as they pursue better health.”
