While the traditional 50th anniversary gift for couples is gold, when McKenzie Health System celebrates its 50th anniversary on July 15, the theme will be all about fun and community. The free anniversary event for the local community includes a day of fun activities for the entire family and will take place on the Sanilac County Courthouse Lawn at 60 W. Sanilac in Sandusky from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m..
The celebration features many representatives from the organization running free activities such as face painting, tai chi and yoga demonstrations, a photo gallery, jump rope contest, bubble station, bean bag toss, corn hole, and the Governor’s Award for Excellence. Attendees can enjoy food, giveaways, a huge slide for the kids, free health screenings, demos and more.
In addition, a 5k Fun Run will kick off the event at 9 a.m., with registration starting at 8 a.m., on the courthouse lawn at 60 W. Sanilac Rd. in Sandusky. Runners and walkers can register at www.mckenziehealth.org; all paid entrants ($25/adults, $10/youth ages 6-12; free for 5 and under) receive a t-shirt and all ages and levels are welcome.
