McKenzie After-Hours Clinic Welcomes Community with Open House on December 7

The McKenzie After-Hours Clinic will host an open house for the community on December 7 from 5:00-7:00 p.m., ahead of the Sandusky Lighted Implement Parade. The After-Hours Clinic provides the community with access to care for acute, non-emergent conditions seven days a week, outside of normal family clinic hours. The McKenzie Health System emergency department is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week for all urgent/emergent needs.

The December 7 free open house will feature refreshments and gifts, glow sticks for the parade, the chance to submit a coloring page for a drawing for a package of four movie tickets to the Firebird Theater as well as the opportunity to meet and mingle with the clinic staff, including Nurse Practitioner Kristie Morgan.

“We are happy to be at our new location of 74 S. Elk Street in Sandusky and look forward to an early holiday celebration with the community at our upcoming open house,” said Nurse Practitioner Morgan. “It is certainly more fun to visit the doctor’s office when you’re feeling well, and this event will give more people the chance to check out the clinic and then continue on with the celebration at the parade.”

The After-Hours Clinic is available Monday through Thursday, 4:30-9:00 p.m.; Friday, 1:00-9:00 p.m.; and weekends and holidays, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Nurse Practitioner Kristie Morgan, MSN, FNP-C staffs the clinic, along with other providers, and telemedicine technology is utilized. While the clinic is not intended for emergencies, it is ideal for minor injuries or illness, minor burns, coughs/colds/sore throats, sinus and ear infections, fever or flu-like systems, non-threatening allergic reactions, and rashes or other skin irritations. No appointments are needed and walk-ins are welcome. The After-Hours Clinic is located at 74 S. Elk Street in Sandusky, right next to Sanilac Pharmacy.
