The Healthy Lifestyle Committee is inviting families to come and learn kid-friendly exercises while playing at the new Splash Pad at the Sandusky City Park located on Speaker St. The July Healthy Lifestyle Workshop, “Look! A Splash Pad!”, will take place at the Splash Pad on Monday, July 25, 2016, at 5:30 p.m., and families of all ages are invited to attend. Dr. Jenny Long, PT, DPT, Director of Rehabilitation Services at McKenzie Health System, will be leading the workshop, giving parents great tips on keeping their children fit and active throughout the summer. Pre-registration for this free class is required by calling Nina Barnett, McKenzie Health System, at 810-648-6127, or emailing email@example.com.
“Since we have an awesome, new Splash Pad in Sandusky, we decided to take advantage of it to give parents, grandparents and other caregivers a fun way to exercise with their children,” explains Louise Blasius, LMSW, LPC, Director of Community and Human Services at McKenzie Health System, and Healthy Lifestyle Committee Chairperson. “Playing in the water is a wonderful way for families to be active together while cooling off on a warm summer evening!”
“Please join us for this cool workshop that will provide valuable information and exercise all in one,” invites Blasius. “In addition to learning important tips on how to keep family members active and healthy, all attendees will be entered into a drawing for a great door prize of 2 beach chairs, a towel and beach ball! But, remember, even though the workshop is taking place at the Splash Pad, pre-registration is mandatory.”
For more information about the workshop, contact Louise Blasius at 810-648-6181; to reserve your spot, contact Nina Barnett at 810-648-6127. We hope to see you there!
