Hours: Variable Day and Afternoon Shift. Hours may be adjusted in response to workload demands. Low census may be utilized in accordance with hospital policy. Weekend rotations required.

Qualifications/Position Requirements:

1. Graduate of Formal Advanced program as a Physician Assistant, Clinical Nurse Specialist, or Nurse Practitioner.
2. Certification by nationally recognized organization for applicable Advanced Practice Profession.
3. Current and valid license to practice in Michigan.
4. DEA License
5. DOT certification
6. Ability to adapt to change and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
7. Demonstrates the ability to establish good working relationships and effective communication with peers, patients, families and other support health system personnel.
8. Demonstrates the ability to function in a leadership position by serving as a resource person, assuming leadership role in emergency/crisis and delegating specific tasks to personnel as indicated.
9. Supports and contributes to the total hospital system by maintaining a hospital-wide perspective and serving on department/hospital committees.
10. Influences the direction of Hospital performance by maintaining a positive perspective/attitude.
11. Demonstrates the ability to communicate in speech, writing and reading the English language.
12. Demonstrates administrative and technical skills essential to the job.

Job summary:

It is the goal of MHS to provide access to acute care services to the community during and outside of normal business hours and weekends. The Advanced Practice Professional will provide acute care services in an after-hours clinic such as sick visits, DOT’s, injury evaluation, employment physicals, etc., under the direction of the Collaborating/Supervising Physician, with limited supervision and broad general direction. They will be required to follow applicable Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations, Hospital policies & procedures, protocols and Collaborating/Supervising Physicians Protocols (when applicable), and Clinic policies and procedures (provider office APP’s). The care provided is comprehensive in scope and includes the overall coordination of the care of the patient. The position requires compliance with acceptable principles, standards and ethics of the national, state and local associations that apply to and govern the licensed professional, hospital regulatory agency requirements and applicable clinic regulatory agency requirements. When applicable, the position also requires compliance with additional guidelines set forth in contract.
