In recognition of September as Fruit and Veggies Month, McKenzie Health System is pleased to welcome Gail Innis, MSU Extension, to present “More Matters” at the September Lunch and Learn workshop, scheduled for Wednesday, September 21, 2016, from Noon to 1 p.m., in the McKenzie Health System Dining Room. Lunch and Learn is a community education series held every third Wednesday of the month. The cost for the workshops is $5, and lunch is included in the price. Pre-registration is required by calling Nina Barnett at 810-648-6127.
“Late summer/early fall is such a great time for delicious fruits like apples and melons, and vegetables, such as pumpkins and squash,” remarks Louise Blasius, LMSW, LPC, Director of Community and Human Services at McKenzie Health System. “At September’s Lunch and Learn Workshop, Gail Innis of MSU Extension will be giving audience members ideas on how to use fruits and vegetables to get the most out of their valuable vitamins, minerals and fiber. A diet rich in fruits and vegetables is a healthy diet that all family members can enjoy!”
The workshop will be presented in a relaxed, personal atmosphere, and questions will be welcomed. “In addition,” Blasius reports, “attendees will have a delicious meal. What a great way to spend a lunch time!” Because the McKenzie Health System dining room has limited seating, pre-registrations are required by calling Nina Barnett at 810-648-6127.
