July Lunch & Learn Focuses on Anxiety and Depression

McKenzie Health System is pleased to present a Community Mental Health Clinician as the featured speaker at the July Lunch & Learn workshop, scheduled for Wednesday, July 17, 2019, from Noon to 1 p.m., in the McKenzie Health System Back Dining Room. The clinician will be speaking on “What Everyone Should Know about Anxiety and Depression.” Lunch and Learn is a community series held every third Wednesday of the month. The cost for the workshop is $5 and lunch is included in the price. Pre-registration is required by calling 810-648-6117 or emailing publicrelations@mckenziehealth.org.

“Although we all experience some nervous or sad feelings in reaction to life stressors, we often don’t realize when those feelings may be turning into more serious conditions like anxiety and depression,” reports Louise Blasius, LMSW, LPC, Director of Human Services at McKenzie Health System. “At the Lunch & Learn Workshop on July 17, we will define anxiety and depression; discuss how the symptoms may differ from person to person, and identify when professional help should be sought. In addition, audience members will learn how to recognize and temper their body’s reaction to stress and learn how to deal with stress by developing healthy coping skills.”

“Please join us for this informative class,” urges Blasius. “As always, the session will be provided in a relaxed, personal atmosphere; questions will be encouraged, and a delicious lunch will be served. Because our dining room has limited seating, pre-registrations are required by calling 810-648-6117 or emailing publicrelations@mckenziehealth.org. We encourage people to reserve their space as soon as possible. We hope to see you there!”
