Healthy Lifestyle Launches 2020 with a focus on Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation

If you or a loved one has experienced a heart attack, heart failure, angioplasty or heart surgery, or struggles with chronic lung disease, you may have heard about the benefits of participating in a Cardiac or Pulmonary Rehabilitation program. This type of program doesn’t change your past, but it can help you improve your future and it is available in our community.

The Healthy Lifestyle Series is kicking off 2020 with a focus on McKenzie’s new Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs, presented by Erin Lipka, RRT, Cardiopulmonary Manager at McKenzie Health System. The workshop will take place on Monday, January 27, at 5:30 p.m. in the McKenzie Health System Dining Room, 120 Delaware Street, Sandusky. Pre-registration is required by calling Public Relations at 810-648-6117 or emailing publicrelations@mckenziehealth.org.

“McKenzie’s Cardiac Rehabilitation program opened in October of 2019 with the Pulmonary Rehabilitation launching a month later. Prior to that, people who needed this type of rehabilitative care for their heart or lungs needed to drive 45 minutes or more to get to a program. Now, we have one right here, close to home,” reports Louise Blasius, LMSW, LPC, Director of Human Services at McKenzie Health System and Healthy Lifestyle Committee Chairperson. “Erin will explain what these McKenzie Rehabilitation programs provide and how it’s benefitting the community every day.”

“The Healthy Lifestyle sessions are presented in a relaxed, interactive atmosphere, where audience members can feel free to ask a variety of questions,” adds Blasius. “We hope people will join us as we focus on cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation and the new programs that McKenzie provides!” For more information on the workshop, contact Louise Blasius at 810-648-6181; to reserve your spot, contact Public Relations at 810-648-6117 or email publicrelations@mckenziehealth.org.
