Then the Healthy Lifestyle Workshop, which will take place in the Back Dining Room of McKenzie Health System, 120 Delaware St., Sandusky, on Monday, May 20, at 5:30 p.m., is for you! Registrations are required by calling 810-648-6117 or emailing publicrelations@mckenziehealth.org.

Merry Martin, Sanilac County Master Gardener, will be presenting on the benefits of growing vegetables in a small space such as a pot or planter. She will cover topics such as:

  • Selecting the right container
  • Choosing the correct soil
  • Adding the best fertilizer
  • Picking the most suitable types of plants or seeds
  • Watering the best way: how, when, and how much
  • Easy and effective maintenance
  • Harvesting Do’s and Don’ts

“Best of all, every attendee will take home a small container full of herbs that they have planted during the class,” reports Louise Blasius, LMSW, LPC, Director of Human Services at McKenzie Health System, and Healthy Lifestyle Committee Chairperson. “Please join us for a class that promises to be both informative and fun, featuring one of our most popular workshop speakers. We hope to see you there!”
